Pumpkin Magic

Now that we own a home, Jimmy and I were able to throw our first dinner party with our neighbors.  They are older than us, so I was determined to have a "grown up" type party, complete with great table decor.  I found an amazing (and easy)  glittered pumpkin guide from Martha Stewart who never disappoints when it comes to entertaining.  All it takes to glam up your pumpkin is a little white glue and glitter then - tada, pumpkin magic is yours.

Post Baby Body

With each passing day,
I hope to see the stretched skin tighten,
the skins spots lighten, and
then a smiling baby makes my face brighten!

But in all honesty, I am impatient . . . like really impatient.  Losing the baby weight is hard work, unlike anything I've ever done.  Yikes!

Miss Advised

via
W.O.W.  Words can't explain the insanity of Bravo's new series, Miss Advised.  I find myself constantly asking, are these women for real (namely Julia)? I literally have my jaw on the ground every time I see Julia's clips.  (And let me tell you, all I watch is reality television, so I have an extremely high tolerance for insanity.) I just can't believe these women (namely Julia) actually exist and are willing to put it on television.  Being famous isn't worth it, at least for this show.

Super Small Joys

Watching LOST reruns and remembering the feeling I had when I first watched the series.

I'm Back?

I heart you
I think I've been inspired to start this up again.  After spending a few hours catching up on my favorite blogs, it reminds me that I really miss taking photographs and writing.  With a 6 week old baby and a new house that needs TLC (wow, life has really changed and fast), I just may have some good material.  That and being off work for four months has left my brain impatient and longing for stimulation.

Baby on the Way

I've been noticeably absent from the blog while I've been pregnant.  Between a full-time job and preparing for baby (and all the hormones and body changes that come with it), I've been tired.  Now with just a week away (and no I don't feel prepared), here is a sneak peek at the orange/grey themed nursery.  (We are having a boy.)

After countless hours of searching online for baby art, we finally decided to take a few pictures from our trips and have them framed.  There is something really fun about decorating Baby A's room with meaningful photographs, one of which includes dad!

I'm Tired of Resolutions

If you are like me, resolutions are nothing more than lip service, or at the very most, a week-long attempt at trying to reinvent a part of myself that just won't have it. So this year, instead of focusing on all the parts of me that I need to "change" in order to better myself and my life, I am going to just embrace, support, and love me for who I am. It is so easy to be all these things to the family and friends we love, but often we lose ourselves along the way.

So cheers to not making empty promises to myself that I will
(1) Read the Wall Street Journal everyday,
(2) Stop biting my nails,
(3) Slow down and smell the roses, and
(4) Spend less time online.

Product Push: YSL

There is nothing better for my 30 something skin than Yves Saint Laurent's Radiant Touche Eclat. It instantly brightens my eyes, and is the perfect eye base for days when I don't feel like wearing very much makeup. Now that I am getting older, the "never wear makeup on the weekends" Marcie is becoming a distant memory. So little tricks like this highlighter that aren't heavy and are hassle free are absolutely a necessity.
