Product Push: Shellac Manicure

{Shellac Blog}

Over the weekend I finally got a Shellac manicure, and I am SOLD! When I first heard of this revolutionary manicure process, I was a little skeptical. A manicure that lasts two weeks and doesn't damage nails? I am day two into my manicure and it has lasted past sunscreen and the pool, two things that are usually manicure killers for me. I don't think I will be going back to the standard three-day manicure again. For those who try Shellac, I highly recommend the light pink polish (third in the photo above), and please avoid the french manicure. It is so 1999.

  1. I'm so glad that you're loving your new manicure! I rarely get manicures at all but if I did, it would definitely be one of these.

  4. I got hooked on Shellac awhile back (and it is MUCH better on your nails that OPI's Axxium) They actually make a few light/sheer pink shades and I often have mine mixed and matched so I don't get bored. Love it.

  7. How do you feel about a French Pedi? My wedding is coming up and I am thinking about it for my toes?

  8. Recently learned about this and can't wait to try.
    Ballet slippers for the fingers and red for the toes - color preferences of Jackie O. I think I'm going to lean towards the color lilac.

  9. I have been using Butter London lacquers of late.... the colours are fabulous. But I am hard on my hands and nails, so it gets quite expensive.... I will have to give this a try.

  12. I need to try this. I bite my nails so I probably need to grow them out a little first. I always get the fake acrylic nails.

  13. I love CND Shellac manis! However, warning to you all, the special lights that they use to "set" the shellac emits UV rays, just like a tanning bed, and already, dermatologists are warning that doing these manis too often can cause premature aging on your hands. They suggest wearing sunscreen on your hands when you go to the salons, or only do these every once in a while for a special occasion.

    I've done 3 in the last 10 months since I heard about this.. I'm paranoid about age spots on my hands. But I'm sure maybe once a month or so would be OK. Just a heads up, girls!
