Dreaming Vintage

1940s typewriter
{love the sea-green keys}

I am a sucker for vintage items. Last weekend I had grandiose plans to attend one of the biggest antique fairs in northern California, but it rained and I stayed in bed. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the bargains and unique items that should be mine right now. With the rain keeping me in this weekend too, I took to Etsy to satisfy my cravings. I didn't purchase any of these items, but I am inspired and will be on the lookout for them next month when I head to the antique fair, rain or shine.

{perfect for short overnight adventures}

gold butterfly mugs

{I remember my grandpa drinking coffee out of these}

{perfect for housing old letters}

1970s rotary phone
{still waiting to set up my land line}

1960s bainer camera

  5. This post made me smile because I'm fairly certain that everything but the vintage camera is located somewhere in my parents' house (down to that exact butterfly pattern on a random plate)!

  6. I remember those coffee mugs, I think my Grandma still has a few in her kitchen.

    about your inquiry for the Tuscany region. We spent a night in the town of San Gimignano. It's charming and about 45 minutes south of Florence. I've heard Montepulciano is also a great place to stay. It's closer to Sienna (it was a pity we didn't have the time to visit it). Feel free to email me if you have more thoughts about Italy. olivas_e@hotmail.com.

  7. The rain will stop all my weekend activities too. Gabe laughs at me and tells me I'm waterproof, but I don't agree. The trunk and the typewriter are amazing! I hope you find something like that next time you go. And my parents STILL have a phone that looks exactly like that in their living room. We had those exclusively until I went to college and now my parents have upgraded in certain rooms to cordless phones. But the rotary in the living room remains. Haha! Hope you had a great weekend, Marcie.
