Weekend Breakfast

IMG_3020

I am usually an eat-on-the-run girl when it comes to breakfast during the week. I believe there is something sacred about breakfast on the weekend. Actually sitting down and enjoying the meal with great food and company has completely changed my outlook on the most important meal of the day. Slowing down and breathing in the aroma of warm blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup is all I need to kick off the perfect Saturday morning.

  5. What gorgeous images.
I did French toast using Panetonne this weekend, and it was really delicious. I only wish I could get such juicy blackberries here in Spain-impossible!!

  11. ummmmm,I loveee pancakes!I'm with you about breakfast and I love having family time on weekends. We have a tradition that goes way back when we were kids growing up in Mexico. Sunday mornings we always had Enchiladas Rojas (red enchiladas) we all had a task at hand. Before it was only my parents and my two sisters, now it's our spouses and kids, we went from 5 to 12 members! So Mom makes the chile sauce, Dad cuts the onions, Sisters grate the cheese, and I get the tortillas ready. This Sunday we had the opportunity to gather (minus Hubby,we are still awaiting his return) but Mom couldn't be happier to have a full house.

  16. There is nothing better than REAL maple syrup. I grew up on the Mrs. Butterworths, and never cared for syrup. Once I tried the sweet taste of pure syrup...I realized not all syrups are the same!

    Great photos.

    Cheers
