Wonderful Wedding Weekend

I have two weddings this weekend. I hope your weekend is equally as fun!

For old times sake . . .

And don't forget to laugh!!

Food Friday: We All Scream for Ice Cream

Let me break it down for you, I have a minor (ok, major) obsession with ice cream. Now I am not a junk food junkie, but I can eat ice cream anytime, anyplace. I am not quite sure when my fascination with ice cream began. Maybe it was watching my grandma order banana splits for lunch, or the 59-cent cone my mom let me get after every swim lesson. Of all the ice cream on the planet, I am in love with Thrifty ice cream (now found in Rite Aid). I know it seems weird to buy ice cream at a place that also sells Neosporin and Band-Aides, but it doesn't matter to me. There is something about Thrifty ice cream that is unbeatable. No one, and and I mean no one, even comes close to topping its amazing taste. When it comes to flavors, I don't discriminate. I will have a little of everything, from butter pecan to chocolate chip and from rocky road to coconut pineapple. But at the end of the day, I am super happy with a bowl full of the basics like chocolate and strawberry. Okay, I know what I am having for dinner tonight.

Trash the Dress

Wedding season is upon us, and so is this new trend called Trash the Dress. Today, women are opting out of saving their wedding dress in an air tight box for years and instead are trashing it! At first, I was shocked and scared by this idea, but the more I think about it the more I want to trash my dress! I would love to wear my dress one more time and have a fun photo shoot. Should I do it? Brides are doing everything from jumping in the ocean, to rolling around in mud!

Would you trash your dress?

Awards

Where to begin. I have been really lucky with all the blog support I've received since I started Lemons and Laundry just 5 weeks ago. I never thought that I'd be getting awards and have over 100 followers! Thank you to everyone for reading. This all makes me very happy.

The Alternative Wife's Dawn presented me the Happy 101 Award! Her blog is a great collection of all this fashionable and fabulous. If you haven't already, please check out her blog.

I pass this award on to my daily reads:
Valerie at Red Vines for Breakfast
Louise at Lou, Boos, and shoes
Alexa at Eye on Fashion

Liz at le passion for fashion gave me the sweet blog award. Liz has a really great blog that is dedicated to all things fashionable. I love the visual images she uses in each post. Please check her out.

I'd like to pass this award on to the following:
Cody at Cody and the Boys: This is a new blog that follows a mom/wife and her four boys (2 sons, a husband and a dog). It is refreshingly sweet and funny! Check it out.

For this blog, I am supposed to pass it on and list 3 things about myself, so here we go.

(1) I am a dessert fanatic. I usually have a piece of dark chocolate while making dinner.
(2) I love US Weekly. I look forward to receiving it every Thursday.
(3) I work out around four days a week. There is no better feeling than after I've had a good workout.

I am passing this award to
Dawn at The Alternative Wife and
Diana at exPress-o

Leslie over at Lemon Sweet Life gave me this great award. She just got engaged and is planning her wedding. Head over to her blog and congratulate her!

I am passing this award on to

I love cocktail rings because they are an easy way to accessorize any look. The brighter and bolder, the better. When it comes to cocktail rings, it is all about variety, therefore, you won't catch me with a $500 ring that I have to wear repeatedly (that is what my wedding ring is for). So bring on the plastic, glass and costume jewelry. Here are a few of my favorite picks under $100.

Out & About

I had a great Sunday. Jimmy and I were at an awesome outdoor market/mall. The sun was shining and the weather was warm. Everyone was out with their "pets" (read on for the reasoning behind the quotes) enjoying the sunshine.

This particular mall is known for its gardens. All the flowers are in full bloom and beautiful. The lovely smelling jasmine made me realize summer is upon us.

The outdoor farmers market is the best here. All the seasonal fruits and veggies were on display. I am so excited it's strawberry season!

Next to the market is an outdoor flower shop. They always have an amazing selection of beautiful flowers.

We stopped in a cafe for tea and a pastry. My earl grey and Jimmy's latte were served in these gigantic cups. We even saw a parrot on a leash! That was definitely a first for me.
