Sugar Detox

As part of my holiday detox plan, I am discussing sweets one final time until I cut them out of my life forever. (Okay, maybe a month.) To say I indulged this weekend is an understatement. My aunt's counters were packed full of assorted sugary treats, and I didn't hold back. (I literally ate and ate until my little heart was content.) I devoured everything from home made pies and cakes to cream puffs and mounds of chocolate. I enjoyed every bit of my sugar rush, but officially have entered the coma stage. I am actually excited to spend the week eating only things steamed and green.

  3. I dropped by from 'for the love of blogs' and chortled at this post....I have such a sweet tooth at times and can scoff major bags of sweets...luckily all my teeth are falling out now so chewy ones are now off the agenda:) It's so hard to give up...thought I'd lick the laptop screen for a while with these pictures on it and then go and tip out my Haribo teddy bears into the bin...I really should give up too.

  4. I missed the sweets this holiday, I was too lazy to make them. We did have a wonderful fruit cake though. I hope you enjoyed them.

  5. YUM!!!! Me and sweets...we are BFF. I have a major sugar addiction and I know it has gotten out of hand! Are you starting today with your sugar detox?! I SO need to do that too! I'm going to start today too!!! Do you just cut out sweets or anything with added sugar?

  7. This sounds a lot like my weekend! I am in desperate need of a sugar detox right about now too. Those cream puffs look incredible. And is that an it's-it? I used to love those! We'd walk to 7-11 from SJM almost every day after freshman year and get one of those. Yum! Hope you had a great Christmas, Marcie!

  11. I can so relate! I'm over the sugar. It's making me sick. I actually sat down and just ate a huge salad last nite to get some greens in my body. I'm sure I'll indulge a bit more over the next few days but I've already shown restraint today by passing up a piece of the delicious crumb cake sitting on my table. Gotta start somewhere, right? :)
