The Presidential Turkey Pardon

Turkey Apple was pardoned by President Obama this year.

It is turkey day in the United States. One interesting White House tradition is the Presidential Turkey Pardon. Every year since 1947, the president of the United States pardons one turkey gets the honor of "living to see another day." Pardoned turkeys get a trip to Disneyland where they are showcased, and they are then retired at George Washington's estate in Virginia. Happy Thanksgiving America!

We're heading to Fresno tomorrow evening (Gabe works today and tomorrow) and my family pretends Saturday is turkey day. So today I'm just relaxing at home and decorating for Christmas.
