Whimsy and Adventure

Between Halloween and foggy mornings, October is a month of whimsy and adventure. I was at lulu Pom, a vintage interiors boutique, and its old world charm instantly grabbed my attention. I am now looking to purchase an hourglass because they really make you stop and appreciate time. I also am captivated by beautiful calligraphy. It is hard to imagine a time when people actually had to write legibly (and quite beautifully) in order to communicate their message. And who doesn't appreciate the anticipation and hope brought about by a treasure hunt? I can imagine Captain Cook using the magnifying glass and telescope on one of his treasure seeking adventures. What items bring you a feeling of whimsy and adventure?

  11. The hourglass is so cool! What a great decoration! For some reason I've always wanted a compass. I had a toy compass when I was really young and I loved going on adventures and using it to find my way home (of course I was only in the backyard, so it wasn't hard to find).

  18. That store sounds so cool. I love the magnifying glass! It's so Inspector Clouseau or Hook looking at the map! Adventure also leads me to binoculars - kinda like that gold one up above.

Did you ever watch Swiss Family Robinson when you were a kid? I wonder if it was a Canadian thing...Suddenly I can't stop thinking about it!

  26. Hi Marcie! Thanks for visiting my blog. I have to say I am really interested in yours right now. All of your October posts seem so fitting! The movies, the smores would make for a fun evening. The title of this particular post appealed to me immediately. Whimsy and Adventure make me think of something magical and and fairytale like! I love that stuff.
