Savoring Summer

Just when I was getting out my gloves and cozy scarves, we had the hottest weekend all summer. It was as if summer said "just kidding" after pulling a three month cold summer prank. California experienced a heat wave that made me sad about the " lost summer" that just came to a close. It was boiling hot, well over 100 degrees in some parts of the state, so we packed up and headed to the beach. Here are a few summer favorites that I am so thankful I got one last shot at experiencing before I welcome autumn with open arms.

Glad you were able to enjoy the beach, here in L.A., it was wise to just stay at home with the AC on!

  5. Marcie, thanks for stopping by my blog...lovely to meet you! I am sure you are enjoying your Indian summer but I can appreciate your thoughts about being ready for a change:)

Just read your previous post...there is something about a globe that adds a special warmth to a room and you said it so well, for you it about the memories.

My son (10) and I like to play a game with our World Atlas, we randomly open a page and plan a trip...all the details are there. It is a fun way to learn about the world!

    Best wishes...

    Jeanne :)

  10. This looks like a perfect day!! It was so insanely hot here yesterday Marcie, but I actually liked it. I think it was temporary insanity from the heat. It's about 90 degrees or so right now, but the marine layer burned off so it could get crazy!

We just can't seem to find a balance in our state (the budget OR the weather!).

    xoxo,

  21. Not happy about the cooler air. It's been cold here for weeks and it doesn't seem to get a slight bit warmer. A mild October would be nice, with sunshine of course! ;)
