Perfect Retreat

This weekend, Jimmy and I visited his grandma in Northern California. We spent Saturday afternoon at a vineyard owned and operated by monks. The property is very serene and shaded by tall walnut trees. A perfect compliment to the green landscape is the massive 100 year old brick warehouse that operates as a winery and all purpose mechanic shop. Based on the property's charm, it is clear that it hasn't changed much in the last century. Equally as charming are the resident monks who travel only by bike. This made the vineyard the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. I was actually able to sit and listen to the air blowing through the trees and enjoy the quiet sound of the country. More on the wine tasting tomorrow.

Here are some photos of the property.
