The University

I am sure I am not the only one who loved college, but I might be one of the few that really liked the studying aspect of it. I can vividly remember studying for hours in law school and loving the feeling of accomplishment that came with finishing a challenging semester. There is nothing like the energy that charges through a campus from all the innovation taking place. This Saturday, Jimmy and I wandered around Stanford University. The beautiful architecture is reminiscent of another time period, and the landscaping is out of a picture book. After walking through campus, we quietly sat on the grass (something I haven't done in a really long time) and watched people fly kites and play ultimate frisbee. This is unquestionably my new favorite place. I can't wait to visit again when the leaves turn this fall.

My view from the grass.

Fall is in the air.

  2. My mom works right by the university & she used to take me here all the time when I was a kid! Isn't the architecture gorgeous!?

I'm still in college now, and though there are times that I absolutely detest it (when I'm in lab), I do love studying--in a sense that I love learning!

  6. Looks like a lovely campus. One of the campuses I go to is in the city's old gaol, which dates back to the 1800s! I love the history there.

  8. Lovely photos, Marcie! I miss university, too, I didn't appreciate it while I was there, that's for sure! I mean, I studied a lot and made good grades, that wasn't wasteful, but I didn't realize how much fun it was as compared to the adult world, lol! Anyway, I did a post about you and your awesomeness today, check it out! XO!

  21. Marcie,

Your pictures are wonderful and really capture the spirit of Stanford - at least according to friends and colleagues of mine who have attended! I have never visited, but it looks lovely and the perfect way to have spent a portion of your weekend. Lucky!

  26. Aww, this brings back memories! I always loved university too! I went to State schools, but was such a sucker for classes that I took a few continuing ed classes at Stanford. Night classes, of course, I always worked full time during my studies, for so many years! I don't know where I got all that energy from? I always felt so good arriving to Stanford and walking around the campus before night settled in. Such a beautiful place, and your photos capture it lovingly!

  34. It's such a stunning campus! You're making me miss school even though I didn't have much of a campus. The streets of NYC were my campus so I would often escape on up to Columbia where J went to school to try to get that experience.

Hope you had a wonderful week, sweetie :)
