Bargain Bandwagon
I will admit that I jump on the trend bandwagon every now and then. This week I purchased an owl ring, key necklace and boyfriend watch, all of which have been summer staples for months. I usually get over trends in five minutes, so paying $25 for all three is perfect. Getting a deal always feels amazing, and Target was the go to store for my boyfriend watch. I've been eying the Michael Kors equivalent that is insanely popular this season, but I wasn't willing to pay $250. I was thrilled when I found a good match for $14.99. The best part is that I can easily move on to the next "time trend" guilt free!
I was at a wholesale jewerly show with Auntie on Monday and was excited to find my owl ring for $4 and key necklace for $6.
How do you determine a splurge from a bargain?

All three of these are great!! I love the owl ring, so fun. Reminds me of Harry Potter, haha
ReplyDeleteFor me I will splurge on handbags, well tailored coats (especially winter coats--an absolute must in Chicago) and my hair. I wear my hair everyday so I spend the $ for the salon visits and products. I'm very iffy on trendy jewelry and shirts because there's a reason they're trends. They will be ugly as sin next season!
And I don't care if Ugg boots are the most revolting things on the planet. I will always buy them because they are insanely comfortable and keep my toes extra warm during the winter!

ahh! You know I love a good bargain as well and you've hit the jackpot with these pieces! The key looks so much like the tiffany's one we all know and love :) I tire of statement accessories pretty quickly so I don't usually splurge on this kinda stuff - but I do like to splurge on shoes and handbags - which can often take me from season to season ♥
ReplyDeletethat's great! i've been wanting to buy a michael kors watch too! :D

Nice bargain shopping! I think the ring and necklace are good things to buy at bargain prices because they are a bit faddish, but save them for your ids and they will come back around and be treasures. Something I always splurge on is bras! Can't go cheap on those babies.

ReplyDeleteThat watch is my ADDICTION. I wear it almost every day -- granted, I did buy it in both gold and silver! It's the one I gave away last week for my anniversary!

i pretty much only shop at forever 21 and h&m and if its somewhere else i only buy it on sale. especially urban outfitters cause EVERYTHING eventaully goes on sale
ReplyDeleteIf it's a bargain I ALWAYS feel good about admitting to how much it cost me. If anyone compliments or mentions the item and the first thing out of my mouth is "It was on sale!" or "It was only $4.99" I know it was a bargain.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is so cool! All for $25! =D
ReplyDeleteI really love the owl ring!
+Thank you for your comment! =D
*X* following! ^^
Those are good deals and they look like good stuff, not cheap. Nice!

Ps: I am having a really great GIVEAWAY later on today…hint?(something you can wear) so please join in !!!!
You found some great items! I always say a splurge should be something classic, that you will wear for years to come. A steal should be something trendy that won't stay in style for long. :)
ReplyDeletethat ring is soooo cute
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! What a unique and interesting ring. I love it. Hmmmmm I think in general I spend more on classics but less on trendy pieces.

CUTE!!!!!!!! Love everything on this post!!! And all for $25?? Can't beat that!!
ReplyDeleteThat owl ring is awesome, Marcie! And so are the watch and key necklace. I've been jumping on the owl trend lately too (I actually have a post in my drafts about owls that I haven't yet finished). I try to splurge on items of good quality that I think will be timeless. I love the owl and key trend, but I can't imagine wearing an owl necklace in a few years, so I figure I'll just go for bargain owl items. :)

Awesome buys Marcie, and such bargains too. Here in Australia even the cheap things arent that cheap anymore.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new goodies xx
Great buys! I love owls. Those rings are so cute! I think you found some great bargains too!
ReplyDeleteI definitely with you on keeping the o-so-trendy stuff on a tight budget! They are just as cute and trendy but you don't feel bad if they are so-over a few months later :)

A splurge is when you feel guilty yet 'good' about your purchase. For example, when Beli was born I purchased a small white diamond ring. It was a splurge but I knew that one day when she is older it will be her special gift from her mami and I will take great pride in saying, 'this ring is as old as you are!"
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately here in Croatia, there are hardly any bargains I'm lucky if I can buy a shirt for under 20 dollars and call it a good deal.
