Food Friday: Tomato, Basil, Mozzarella

If you haven't been able to tell from all my pasta posts, I am half Italian. Growing up, we had an Italian dinner almost every night. Now that I am the cook in my family, I repeat the classic family recipes of my childhood, but I also venture out and try new things. This tomato, basil, mozzarella dish is my new summer love. It is made with the freshest ingredients, takes 5 minutes, and is the perfect appetizer for summer. I love that, once assembled, each slice becomes a colorful and decorative dinner piece. This dish is great for dinner parties because it smells amazing and is absolutely delicious.

I like to inhale the fresh basil scent.

Toasted baguette slices with olive oil and balsamic vinegar

Topped with fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil

*Email photos of you trying this recipe, or any of my others, and you may be featured in a post. I'd love to hear what you think.*

  1. I'm part Italian too but about a sixth mixed with english, spanish and scotish can you believe - my travelling English family!

I love my food, especially my pasta. Luckily I can get away with eating tones much to the annoyance of my girlfriends and even my boyfriend, lol!
