Colorful Magic

The nostalgic feelings of my childhood haven't worn off from my trip home this weekend. As a kid, I watched all the classic Disney movies. I can still recite most of them word for word. Just assembling this post makes me remember dressing up in my plastic high heels, applying my mother's Lancome lipstick and watching Bell get her beast, Ariel shed her fins, Alice find her way, Cinderella escape the locked room, and Aurora's prince battle Maleficent. Maybe it is just me, but I am always looking for an excuse to watch these Disney classics so I can catch a glimpse of a time when everything was simple and possibilities were endless.

Which cartoons are your favorite?

This one is for my brother.

  1. Awwww, this is so sweet! I love "Beauty and the Beast" and "Cinderella," and I thought that "Enchanted" was such a fabulous cross between utter fantasy and the real world!

  2. Saw your post and just loved it. I am feeling so homesick myself these days - and your pictures from yesterday made me think about home so much.

So cute that you loved the Classics. If I had to pick one or two I'd say Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs or Sleeping Beauty. Or Cinderella. But that's three...

    Terrific post Marcie :)

  6. Ohh, love these! I had so many of the Disney animated movies when I was little - Little Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast, Aladdin, Cinderella - my grandparents would give them to me and my sister. I'm sure they're still at my parents house somewhere!

  10. My favorite was The Little Mermaid and I could probably recite it all by heart! I'm trying to get my daughter to enjoy them too, but I think she's still a little too young. Plus, it's kind of sad too because she really likes Shrek and the Pixar movies because they're so much clearer, but I want to her to like the oldies but goodies too. Hopefully in a year or two she'll enjoy them.

That's also what I think is so funny, that Disney makes a killing on all the Princess products, but I bet many of the little girls haven't even seen the movies. So crazy!? Great post! :)

  15. Beauty and the Beast was and still is my favorite!!! I love how this story is different from all the rest. The prince doesn't have to rescue a princess from an evil queen. AND I love Belle! :D

  20. What a great post, Marcie! This totally brings me back to elementary school. The Dalenas used to have every single disney movie and we'd watch Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid over and over again. Those are definitely my two favorites!
