Jellies 2.0

I was a child of the 80s, and along with that came the privilege of owning jelly shoes. I had them in every color and wore them everywhere. And no, it didn't matter that they made my feet bleed and gave me blisters for weeks. I was loyal to my jellies. They made me feel like a princess, and I loved that "grown-up" clicking sound they made when I walked on the kitchen floor. I even wanted to wear them in bed, but my mom vetoed that so instead I settled for having them on the floor next to me so I could slip them on the second I woke up.

Jelly shoes are back this season, and they aren't just for those under the age of 10. High-end designers such as Ferragamo and Kate Spade have "remade" the jelly shoe. I am not one to jump on every trend bandwagon (I still can't bring myself to wear gladiator shoes), but I was thrilled this weekend when I found a pair of Stuart Weitzman jellies. They are surprisingly comfortable, have air holes so my feet can breath, and are the perfect summer flat for work. The biggest bonus, I got them for 60% off (thank you Marshalls)!

Will you be wearing jellies this summer?

OK, I admit it. I was so excited that I wore them while making dinner.
I guess some things never change.

  2. Loving your Stuart Weitzman jellies :) I had an obsession with jellies when I was a kid, but I fear the blisters they would leave on my feet now!

  6. First of all, love those SW shoes. They look so comfy and stylish too. As for jellies, I used to love them as a kid, but I'll probably still stick with flip-flops, Bonanno's and Jack Rogers, for most of the summer months. But I love the ones you have in the photo here.

  7. Yesssssss! Jellies were so horribly painful, but I still wore them everywhere. Remember when you'd got a rock in one?! Love the new ones! I'm definitely going to have to check out Marshalls/TJMaxx to see if I can score a pair :)

  22. You know I was walking out of Target yesterday, and I saw them stacked on a shelf, and I said, you gotta be kidding Jellies are back. I almost bought some Kate Spade jellies this year, but my readers reminded me that being a Captain's Lady and all, that when they got wet they rubbed blisters on our feet. Do you remember that about jellies? I had the pink sparkly pair with the glitter. And you?
I have been spooling around your blog and I am in love. The John Lennon quote a few posts back, could I post it to my sidebar? Come to the swing tomorrow it's Wordless Wednesday, one of my favorite days in bloggy land! Were in midst of a series I entitled Legends. I think you will appreciate it!
