I was a child of the 80s, and along with that came the privilege of owning jelly shoes. I had them in every color and wore them everywhere. And no, it didn't matter that they made my feet bleed and gave me blisters for weeks. I was loyal to my jellies. They made me feel like a princess, and I loved that "grown-up" clicking sound they made when I walked on the kitchen floor. I even wanted to wear them in bed, but my mom vetoed that so instead I settled for having them on the floor next to me so I could slip them on the second I woke up.
Jelly shoes are back this season, and they aren't just for those under the age of 10. High-end designers such as Ferragamo and Kate Spade have "remade" the jelly shoe. I am not one to jump on every trend bandwagon (I still can't bring myself to wear gladiator shoes), but I was thrilled this weekend when I found a pair of Stuart Weitzman jellies. They are surprisingly comfortable, have air holes so my feet can breath, and are the perfect summer flat for work. The biggest bonus, I got them for 60% off (thank you Marshalls)!
Will you be wearing jellies this summer?
OK, I admit it. I was so excited that I wore them while making dinner.
I guess some things never change.
